BMISpot provides free, accurate, and evidence-based body composition calculators to help people better understand their health. We believe that access to quality health screening tools should be free, fast, and available to everyone.
Unlike many health calculator websites, we prioritize accuracy, transparency, and user education. Every calculator on BMISpot is built on peer-reviewed scientific formulas, includes clear explanations of methodology, and acknowledges the limitations of each tool.
Evidence-Based: Every formula we use comes from published medical or nutritional research. We cite our sources on each calculator page so you can verify the methodology.
Inclusive: We include ethnicity-specific BMI cutoffs (such as the WHO Western Pacific Region guidelines for Asian populations) because one size does not fit all in health assessment.
Transparent: We clearly explain what each calculator measures, how the formulas work, and — importantly — where they fall short. No health tool is perfect, and we believe you deserve to know the limitations.
Privacy-Respecting: All calculations happen in your browser. We don't store your personal health data on any server. Your BMI history is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted.
BMISpot is designed for informational and educational purposes only. Our calculators are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult with a qualified healthcare provider for any health-related decisions.
The formulas used in our calculators are based on population-level statistics and may not accurately reflect the health status of every individual. Factors such as muscle mass, bone density, body composition, age, sex, and ethnicity can all influence how health metrics should be interpreted.
We welcome feedback, suggestions, and corrections. If you notice an error in our calculations or content, or if you have ideas for new calculators, please reach out to us.
